Care about the environment? A change as simple as a toothbrush could make a big impact!
Biodegradable bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants on earth. It can be grown without the use of harsh chemicals or pesticides, making it a quick and easy switch to reduce your plastic footprint with a non plastic toothbrush.
The Eco Bamboo Toothbrush offers a plastic free toothbrush handle that will leave teeth feeling fresh and clean thanks to the dentist-approved soft bristles made from bamboo charcoal.
The average Brit goes through 320 toothbrushes in a lifetime. Dentists recommend replacing your toothbrush every 3-4 months, which means mountains of toothbrush handles sitting in landfill sites for generations to come. Your personal plastic toothbrush legacy could out survive your great, great, great-grandchildren.
As an alternative, wooden toothbrush handles will biodegrade within a matter of months. You can even add them to your compost pile if you remove the bristles first.
And what’s the story with the bristles? Well, the truth is that bamboo toothbrush bristles have caused some controversy since being added to the plastic free aisle. They don’t biodegrade as quickly as pure bamboo wood and do contain some plastic elements. We did our research, spoke to some dentist folk and searched high and low for an alternative that would keep your teeth up to standard whilst being completely biodegradable. We even looked into pig hair, but that didn’t end well for the pigs involved. We’re keeping our eyes and ears open. In the meantime, if you have a better idea for a fully plastic free toothbrush, let us know via the contact us page. We’d love to hear about it.
Our non plastic toothbrush handles are made sustainably in China. Colours may vary.
Can I reuse the plastic free toothbrush handle after I’m done?
If you want to reach ultimate waste-free living, it’s always best to reuse your products where possible. Wooden toothbrush handles make great sticks for holding up your plants or can be use as cleaning brushes.
