There is nothing sexier in the war against plastic than plastic free cleaning products!
So you’re on your plastic free journey and have bought a reusable water bottle, but have learnt the hard way about putting your morning smoothie in there. You need a bottle brush to get that hard to reach gunk out and make it sparkling new again.
Even better – get yourself a plastic free bottle brush made from made from coconut coir, the natural fibre found between the coconut shell and outside husks. This is a byproduct of the coconut harvest, and it’s considered to be a renewable and sustainable product because new crops of coconuts can be regrown repeatedly on the same trees. In even better news, coir is naturally antibacterial, completely biodegradable and is non-toxic, unlike the plastic products we have been using!
They’re tough enough for scrubbing but are still non-scratch, making them great for wine glasses and baby bottles too. And they last for AGES! Simply add a small amount of detergent and treat it like a normal dish brush, remembering to dry it out between each use. Once it’s lived it’s best life, liberate it to the compost heap (removing the metal stem) and it will biodegrade.
Complete your zero waste kitchen kit and you’ll never have to rely on plastic cleaning products again!
